As states allow malls, stores, and restaurants to open up to some public capacity, many safety risks arise as fear of spreading COVID still looms over people’s heads. At times, you may see someone without a face mask, making you feel uncomfortable. You wonder, who is keeping the order and safety for every customer that walks in?
Luckily, a profession ensures that everyone is following COVID protocols, and they are security guards.⠀ ⠀
Security guards help customers and businesses alike be as safe as possible while satisfying both parties in exchanging services and money that affect their livelihood. In addition, security guards prevent criminal activity from happening earlier in the year due to the looting and fighting among people resulting in hospitalizations and even death.⠀ ⠀
However, their jobs come at a price as they risk their health and safety and must deal with potentially aggressive customers.⠀ ⠀
For these reasons, I would like to thank all the security guards for the many sacrifices you made. This is not an easy job, especially during this time. By all means, the fact that you are coming to your job really makes me appreciative of the role you play in deescalating the virus’s spread. You really do make a difference.⠀ ⠀
