Although military personnel get lots of spotlight on holidays such as Memorial day and Veterans day, it never hurts to spotlight them on any other day of the year.
My father serves in the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel and IBCT (Infantry Brigade Combat Team) Brigade Surgeon. During this pandemic, he hasn’t stopped working to help the state of Louisiana, from setting up a temporary hospital to working as a psychiatrist for the veterans of Lafayette. He does all of this while preparing to be deployed to Iraq in November.
I know that other soldiers like him are putting in hard work to make sure their communities and country continue to be safe and healthy throughout these difficult times. Everyday, they wake up ready to put others’ lives before their own. For the wonderful work that soldiers like my father carry out everyday, thank you very much for your service.
